In the year 1977, the Employment Act was issued by the Government of Maharashtra with the aim of providing employment to unemployed citizens. Two schemes are operated under this Act. One of which is Maharashtra Rojgar Hami Yojana.
Through this scheme, 100 days of employment is provided to unemployed citizens in a period of 1 year. Under this scheme, the wage rate will be fixed by the central government. This scheme was implemented in the entire country by the Central Government in the year 2008. Throughout the country, this scheme is known as Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Act .
