Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, taking a big decision in the interest of the farmers of the state, has approved the launch of Mukhyamantri Krishak Mitra Yojana by the Council of Ministers on 16 September 2023. Through Mukhyamantri Krishak Mitra Yojana, farmers and groups of farmers in the state will be given permanent agricultural pump connections of 3 horse power or more capacity. This scheme will remain effective for 2 years from the date of implementation. The Madhya Pradesh government has set a target of 10,000 pumps in the first year under the Chief Minister Krishak Mitra Yojana. Under this scheme, the distribution company will extend the 11 KV line up to a maximum distance of 200 meters and install a distribution transformer. Apart from this, electricity lines will be extended through cables. Through this scheme, farmers will be provided easy irrigation facilities.

- Chief Minister Krishak Mitra Yojana has been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Madhya Pradesh on 16 September 2023.
- Through this scheme, permanent agricultural pump connections of 3 horsepower or more capacity will be provided to farmers or groups of farmers in the state.
- Under the Chief Minister Krishak Mitra Sahayata Yojana, the distribution company will extend the 11 KV line up to a maximum distance of 200 meters and install a distribution transformer. This will help farmers in irrigation.
- Under this scheme, only 50% of the electricity infrastructure development cost will have to be spent by the farmer/group of farmers.
